A Focus on Sampling Services
During 2016, Eurofins-ELS expanded with the opening of laboratories in Auckland and Christchurch. These sites have seen a demand for our sampling services across all aspects of laboratory work. As well as Swimming Pool and Potable Water Sampling, some of the areas we are being asked to provide a service for include:
Automatic Wastewater Samplers and Trade Waste
Sampling waste streams requires specialised equipment such as automatic programmable sampling devices and health and safety equipment. We use this equipment to collect wastewater samples from sewage treatment plants and also for Trade Waste testing at commercial premises.
Sampling staff are available in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch to perform project and ongoing work at locations around the region.
Contact Recreational Bathing Beaches
Sampling staff are available to collect a wide range of surface water sample types including stormwater, rivers, lakes, and streams as well as bathing beaches for the national Contact Recreation programme.
Sampling capability includes onsite recording of a range of parameters such as dissolved oxygen, pH and conductivity.
Bores
Groundwater bores require specialised equipment and pumps as well as special techniques to ensure a representative sample is collected. Our teams have been trained to ensure these samples are collected accurately.
On-site measurements such as temperature can be performed by the sampler.
Swales
Stormwater swales and Stormwater basins are used in modern urban design to capture and divert stormwater runoff away from surface waters such as creeks and rivers. They help catch heavy metals and hydrocarbons. Swales are seen as a low lying channel next to a road or street.
Eurofins-ELS staff in all regions are trained to sample from swales and basins as well as the wider stormwater network.
