ISO 17025 Equivalency

2016 saw the Eurofins laboratories in Australia, New Zealand and beyond co-operating more than ever. Customers have enjoyed the services offered by the Eurofins global network with millions of dollars worth of samples being tested in these off-shore facilities. We have received several queries over the year asking for clarification of the accreditation for these laboratories – particularly those in Australia.

New Zealand laboratories are audited by IANZ and reports issued within New Zealand will carry an IANZ logo. Our Australian laboratories are audited by NATA and therefore their reports carry a different accreditation logo. The laboratories however, are audited against the same international standard - ISO 17025.

The important point for users of Eurofins laboratories is that IANZ has confirmed that they accept (as equivalent to labs accredited by IANZ in NZ) test results from overseas labs:

  • that are ISO 17025 accredited for the specific scope of testing included in the test report
  • and are accredited by an MRA partner (ILAC or APLAC full MRA signatory)
  • and the test report is endorsed with the overseas accreditation body’s logo (indicating to IANZ that the testing is fully in accordance with accreditation requirements).
