Meat Industry Water Testing
The meat industry is required to test its processing water at regular intervals for a large number of parameters including microbiological and chemical compounds. This requirement is defined by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) and was developed in consultation with our overseas trading partners.
The microbiology and general chemistry tests stay the same, but it is our organic chemistry test capability that has expanded.
By adding Epichlorohydrin, and the seven new compounds introduced into the OMAR in November 2016, Eurofins-ELS is now capable of performing all of the routine Organic Chemistry tests in-house. In addition to this, our chemists have developed the instrument capability to combine two of the 5-yearly tests into a single instrument run.
The development allows us to reduce the price for the 5-yearly suite by $330 – a saving of 15%

Meat industry exporters who send samples to Eurofins-ELS will receive a new sample submission form that reflects these changes and will receive the cost reduction when the next set of samples are submitted.
