New Laboratory opens in Dunedin
Earlier this month we opened a new laboratory in Dunedin in order to better serve and expand our offering to customers in the lower South Island

The 120m2 laboratory building is conveniently located in South Dunedin and offers our full range of testing services. We will perform microbiological tests as well as some basic chemistry locally, with the complex chemistry tests being sent to the Wellington laboratory. In addition to the analytical work, we will be offering an IANZ accredited sampling service for drinking water, swimming pools, trade waste and general environmental samples.
Two locals, Nicole Felts and Andrea Figueroa, have been appointed as laboratory analysts/samplers and are already hard at work providing our industry-leading services to our local customer base.
Nicole graduated from the University of Otago with a BSc Major in Microbiology, Minor in Zoology. Nicole has a solid understanding of the quality systems gained through her experience working at IANZ accredited diagnostic microbiology and environmental testing laboratories for the past several years.
Andrea has degrees in Chemical Engineering and Engineering Sciences with a strong background in Health and Safety. She has considerable experience in food, potable water, industrial and environmental testing laboratories.
Both Andrea and Nicole are great assets to our new laboratory and will bring their experience along with a friendly and positive attitude to their roles.

Dan Westlake, Business Unit Manager for environment testing in the South Island, will be heading up the laboratory.
Dan has an honours degree in analytical chemistry and has worked in environmental, industrial and water laboratories in the UK and New Zealand. Prior to joining Eurofins early last year, Dan was employed as an analytical instrument technical service and sales rep for a Christchurch based company.
